General refurbishment 2016
Around € 750,000.00 was invested in the new Montafon Kristbergbahn between March 29, 2016 and May 25, 2016. The entire control technology, electrical engineering and braking technology, as well as the gondola and the exit were completely renewed. The complete refurbishment resulted in a major increase in comfort.
All the companies felt particularly welcome and appreciated and confirmed that they had never been welcomed with such hospitality and appreciation before. The companies involved and the entire Montafon Kristbergbahn team, led by Operations Manager Günter Säly and Deputy Operations Manager Roland Zudrell, cooperated perfectly with each other and successfully completed this major step for the new Montafon Kristbergbahn in the very short time of approx. 2 months.
The main companies involved were FREY Austria GmbH, Ludwig Steurer Maschinen und Seilbahnenbau GmbH & Co KG and Montafonerbahn Aktiengesellschaft.
We continuously invest in quality improvements for the cable car, lift systems, snowmaking infrastructure and overall comfort. In the past two years alone, more than € 210.000,00 have been invested in new toilet facilities at the top and bottom stations, a changing and storage room at the top station, and a barrier-free entrance at the valley station. Our family-friendly ski area has also seen a major quality boost: With the purchase of a more powerful snow groomer, the expansion of the snowmaking system and – especially – with the creation of "Silbi's Winterwelt", a freely accessible beginner's area featuring a magic carpet conveyor belt.
