Approach

Take the A14 to the Bludenz/Montafon exit and continue on Montafonerstraße L188 to Schruns. Via Schruns you reach Silbertal.

Just leave your car standing

The regional buses operate throughout Montafon. The main lines run every half hour from Schruns train station.

Arrival by train to Montafon

From Bludenz train station, the Montafonerbahn runs hourly (sometimes half-hourly). There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) and Bregenz.

Directions

From the valley station of the Kristbergbahn, the path first leads along the service road Innertal to Schrofa. Then via Gametscha and Gabl you reach the exit point Stelzer, from where you go directly to the mountain station of the Kristbergbahn.

Tips

This route is marked with the green number 8 on the overview map "Aktivkarte Schnee". The map is available free of charge at the Montafon tourist offices.

Fluids, energy, and breaks are necessary to maintain performance and concentration. Hot, isotonic drinks are ideal thirst quenchers and warmers. Muesli bars, dried fruit, and cookies satisfy small hunger along the way.
