Ski touring is endurance sport. The valuable strain on the heart and circulation requires health and good self-assessment. Avoid time pressure and increase the intensity and duration of your tours slowly. Pay attention to reserves of strength for the descent. Fluids, energy, and breaks are necessary to maintain performance and concentration. Hot, isotonic drinks are ideal thirst quenchers and heat providers. Muesli bars, dried fruit, and biscuits satisfy small hunger on the way.
The ski tour to the Mittagspitze is a very demanding route. It requires that you are physically fit and completely free of dizziness. Good skiing skills are a prerequisite for the descent.
