The disciplines
Snowboard
The snowboard disciplines could not be more different. While the halfpipe is all about difficulty, style and creativity, alpine snowboarding is a parallel competition and snowboard cross is all about speed and nerves of steel. The Snowboard FIS World Cup features six disciplines: snowboard cross, parallel giant slalom, parallel slalom, slopestyle, big air and halfpipe. The snowboard freestyle disciplines will also be held as part of the World Snowboard Tour.
Freestyle and Freeski
The disciplines of freestyle and freeski are very similar to those of snowboarding - but with the addition of the two acrobatic disciplines of aerials and moguls.
