ÖSV and the Montafon are awarded the contract for a top sporting event in Vorarlberg

We have very good news:

The FIS World Championships are coming to the Montafon!

The World Championships are to be organized by the ÖSV in cooperation with the host Ski Club Montafon, the communities of the valley, the state of Vorarlberg, Montafon Tourism and the Montafon mountain railroads. According to Roman Kuss from the ÖSV, the aim of the World Championships is to provide a strong impetus for winter sports. The aim is to "bring children back to the mountains", said Kuss. Manuel Bitschnau, Managing Director of Montafon Tourismus, described the FIS World Championships as a "milestone" for the Montafon. Winning the bid would be a confirmation of the region's winter sports expertise.

All Montafon municipalities are involved!

"The venues should be spread across the entire valley," said Jürgen Kuster, Mayor of Schruns and representative of the eight municipalities. The municipalities had considered the bid very carefully and finally decided in favor of the major event.

Martina Rüscher (ÖVP), Member of the Provincial Council for Sport, described the bid as a "courageous initiative", which is not only important for economic and touristic reasons, but also as a role model for young people.

This is the biggest winter sports event of all time in Vorarlberg.
