Alpine farming has a long history in the Montafon.

For hundreds of years, farmers have taken their cattle to the Alps in summer. Today they are a popular destination for hiking excursions and (e-)mountain bike tours. The freshly milked milk is often used to make and sell cheese and butter directly on site. Montafon Sura Kees can be found on most menus.
