SKI TOURS IN MONTAFON
Leave your tracks in the snow
Ski tours in the Montafon - nature, silence and pure freedom
What makes a ski tour unforgettable? A panorama that not only impresses, but also gives you pause. Trails that lead through quiet forests, across wide slopes and up to peaks of up to 3,000 meters. Moments in which the ascent becomes a meditation - and the view from the summit a reward. And finally the descent: through powder snow in the middle of the Silvretta, Verwall or Rätikon mountains.
Skitouren Highlights
Madrisa round tour
The tour around the Madrisa is one of the highlights of the Montafon ski paradise.
Ski excursion in the evening
An extraordinary mountain experience awaits you in Gargellen: As soon as the last cable car stops and peace descends over the ski resort, you begin your ascent on touring skis to the impressive Schafberg plateau - accompanied by experienced guides who will give you fascinating insights into the processes behind the scenes of a ski resort.
Once at the top, you enjoy a leisurely snack at the foot of the mighty Madrisa while the sky glows in warm colors. Then you ski down into the valley in the beam of your headlamp. This tour is especially suitable for ski tour beginners.
To the mountain experience

Winter sports away from the slopes and trails:

What you should know.
Fresh powder slopes and snow-covered winter forests have a very special charm. However, they are not only a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts, but also the habitat of many wild animals. Especially in winter, their energy is precious - any unnecessary disturbance can be a burden for them.
You too can help to protect nature and its creatures: Stay on marked routes, avoid dense forest areas and respect quiet zones. This way you can enjoy the winter tranquillity without disturbing the delicate balance of wild animals.

The weather check
The weather often changes quickly in the mountains. So check the weather and, even more importantly, the avalanche report before every ski tour. Safety should always be your companion, both on the ascent and on the subsequent descent.
The early bird
The earlier you start your ski tour in the morning, the better. It's easy to explain why: you are the first to leave your tracks in the snow and don't share the wonderful natural surroundings with other ski tourers. This is what freedom in the mountains feels like!
The equipment
No more room in the car for your ski touring equipment? Then simply borrow it from one of the many rental stations. Even if you want to try out new equipment or a new brand, these stations are your first port of call in the Montafon. Don't forget: Avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe belong in every rucksack.
Relaxed on the road
Enjoy the ski tour to the full. Consciously experience nature, the glaciers and the mountain landscape - and don't let yourself be rushed. After all, you're on vacation and want to tell everyone back home about the fantastic touring area.
Music
Music is the ultimate motivator. Nevertheless, it is advisable to leave your ears free for the sounds of nature. For two reasons: Firstly, you don't want to miss the unique crunching of the snow under your skis, do you? And secondly, with loud music in your ears, you won't notice important warning signals such as crunching snow. Therefore: "Los liaber dr Natur - Musig kriagsch dahem gnua!" (Listen to nature instead - you can listen to enough music at home!)
The environment
The beautiful area through which you make your tracks is shared with a variety of wild animals. They use the region as a habitat and retreat that needs to be protected, especially in the cold months. Help protect them and find out more about nature-friendly mountain sports in the Montafon!
