Directions

The tour starts at the Kristberg cable car top station and you can ski down to the Kristberg panoramic inn. The ascent begins and you climb up from the St. Agatha mountain miners' chapel towards Kristbergsattel. It is fairly flat to the Silbertaler Forest School. After the first breather, the ascent continues to the first viewpoint Ganzaleita. Once there, you can enjoy a very beautiful view into the neighbouring valley, the Klostertal. Further ascent to the second viewpoint, the Falla. From there you have an even better view of the neighbouring valley. In good weather and clear visibility, the Red Wall, which lies almost opposite, is nicely in view. Even the Flexen Pass road, which leads to the well-known little town of "Lech", can be seen. You follow the signpost towards Alpe Latons. It is almost flat around the Schwarzhorn until you then branch off to the left. First, one last steep ascent until you reach the ridge, the Obere Wiese, at the foot of Alpilakopf. From Obere Wiese, you are rewarded for your efforts here with a fantastic view. From the Obere Wiese, there are various descent options to Bartholomäberg or Innerberg.

Equipment

A careful planning of every ski tour is necessary. Consider the avalanche report. For avalanche emergencies, ski touring equipment must include an avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe (standard).

Tips

Skinning tours are endurance sports. The valuable strain stimuli for heart and circulation require health and good self-assessment. Avoid time pressure and gradually increase intensity and duration of your tours. Pay attention to energy reserves for the descent. Fluids, energy and breaks are necessary to maintain performance and concentration. Hot, isotonic drinks are ideal thirst quenchers and heat providers. Muesli bars, dried fruit and biscuits satisfy small hunger on the way.

TIP:

It is recommended to do the ski tour with the Montafon mountain guides. The “pros” will lead you into the wonderfully beautiful mountain world of Montafon. More information at www.montafon.bergfuehrer.at or www.montafon-guides.at. Individual tours are also offered.
