The four mountain cable cars in the Montafon have been committed to a responsible approach to nature for years. Their strategy for the future: state-of-the-art technology and environmentally friendly operating procedures to preserve the mountain world in the long term. Energy-efficient lifts, water-saving snowmaking systems and well thought-out waste concepts are key components of this.
Their aim is to create unforgettable mountain experiences while keeping the ecological footprint as small as possible. In doing so, they take innovative approaches and are constantly evolving.

Green Mountains Initiative
Climate change is also making itself felt in one of Vorarlberg's largest ski resorts. Silvretta Montafon is therefore setting an example with its initiative to raise awareness and encourage action. They are active in the fields of: Climate, natural space and living space. What they cannot do themselves, they solve together with their partners.
What does Bergbahnen Gargellen do?
Taking responsibility - on and around the mountain as well as in the entire local area. In addition to 100% green electricity and 8 existing e-charging stations, the sense of community in the valley and within the team is a top priority.
But they do much more.
Bergliebe - Together for tomorrow
The Vorarlberg mountain railroads unite various sustainability efforts under this brand - including the Kristbergbahn. It is also a co-initiator or active member of numerous other projects to reduce CO2 emissions in Silbertal.
Experiences close to nature for the whole family
Sustainable vacationing is made easy here. Not only do the large reservoirs in these areas supply green electricity for the entire valley, the company always keeps an eye on its greenhouse gas footprint and implements numerous measures, such as the world's first photovoltaic chairlift.
Guaranteed snow today and in the future
Snowmaking is a key issue for all mountain railroads today - in the Montafon it is implemented with responsibility and state-of-the-art technology.
Only water, air and 100% regional green electricity are used. This ensures guaranteed snow and at the same time respects the natural environment.
