Our mission for events in the Montafon
We in the Montafon attach great importance to protecting our most precious treasure - the Montafon mountain and living environment and its inhabitants.
That's why we focus on sustainable measures in all areas - including our numerous events. Each one has been awarded the "ghörig feschta" seal of quality.
"ghörig feschta" award
"ghörig feschta" is an initiative of the Vorarlberg Environmental Association and the Austrian Institute of Ecology, which aims to make Vorarlberg festivals and events more sustainable.
In order to receive the "ghörig feschta" award, a list of criteria must be met. These include the areas of waste, catering, mobility, resources, responsibility and the promotion and communication of the event.
Measures that we implement at all our events:
Waste minimization
- Only reusable crockery and cutlery is used for food.
- Reusable containers (kegs, taps, etc.) and reusable glasses or cups are used for drinks.
- Large containers are used instead of portion packs (e.g. for mustard or ketchup).
- Appropriate containers are set up and supervised for the correct separation of waste.
- Give-aways are either unpackaged and battery-free, or are not used at all.
Strengthening regional added value
- Purchases are made - where available - from local or regional local suppliers or producers.
- We mainly use regional (maximum radius of 150 km) and fair trade products (food and drinks). Where possible, we therefore use products from bewusstmontafon, with a focus on the production of genuine, regional products.
- At least one vegetarian or vegan dish is offered.
- Free drinking water is freely available or is provided free of charge with other consumptions.
Use of soft mobility
- Visitors will be informed about the options for traveling to and from the event by public transport. At many events, travel by public transport is even free of charge.
Sensible use of resources
- 100% recycled paper (e.g. Blue Angel certificate) is used for printed materials such as invitations, posters etc. and printed in a climate-neutral way (except for in-house printing).
- Domestic materials (e.g. wood) are used for structures and equipment.
Taking responsibility
- The range of drinks on offer includes sufficient non-alcoholic alternatives to suit the type of event.
- Promotions that encourage the excessive consumption of alcohol (e.g. "happy hours" or "meter drinking") are avoided.
- Sufficiently wide spaces and aisles for wheelchairs and baby carriages are provided for seating and mingling.
Advertising and communication
- The employees and partners involved are informed about the "ghörig feschta | nachhaltig veranstalten" criteria to be adhered to.
- Visitors are informed that the event is being held in accordance with "ghörig feschta | nachhaltig veranstalten".

Of course, we also have points that we are still working on. These include:
- Improving and securing the origin of energy from renewable sources.
- Integrating sustainability management more deeply into events.
- Finding further potential to conserve nature and environmental resources.
- Promoting soft mobility.
- Taking specific guest needs into account.
One step further
We are constantly looking at how our events can be made even more sustainable. That's why we implement additional measures depending on the event. Details can be found directly at the respective event.
