Ski tour to the Lindauer Hut ​(​1​-​744 m​)​

Description

A very scenic ski tour with few altitude meters in ascent. The route takes you at the foot of the Sulzfluh directly in close proximity to the Drei Türme (a landmark of the Rätikon). With the Lindauer Hut, this route also offers a culinary destination.

Approach

The Montafonerbahn runs hourly from Bludenz station (partly every half hour). There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) and Bregenz.

Just leave your car behind

The regional buses of the Montafonerbahn operate throughout Montafon. The main lines run hourly from Schruns station.

From Schruns station, you can take bus line 601 to Latschau. The stop is: "Kraftwerk".

For the return trip

Bus line 1 takes you back from Latschau to Schruns station.

Parking

Paid parking at the Latschau hiking car park (fees apply from 0:00 to 24:00. A new day begins at 0:00).

Costs:

1 day: €3.00;

2 days: €6.00;

3 days: €9.00;

For each additional day, an extra €3.00 is charged. A ticket can be purchased for a maximum of 14 days.

Directions

From the parking lot, you walk with ski touring skis across the meadow until you reach the forest road and follow it. You continue to climb via the Lower Sporaalpe until you reach the Lindauer Hut. The hut is still located in the forest on a gently pronounced ridge. The descent is the same as the ascent.

The route is ideal for ski touring beginners.

Equipment

Ski touring skis, skins, possibly crampons, ski poles, ski helmet, avalanche equipment with transceiver, avalanche probe and shovel, ski touring backpack (approx. 30 liters) with avalanche airbag and rain cover, ski touring boots, ski socks, warm and durable clothing in a layering system, ski touring jacket and pants, light gloves for the ascent, warm gloves for the descent, hat/headband, possibly ski goggles, sun and rain protection, provisions and drinking water, thermos flask with hot drink, first aid kit, pocket knife, mobile phone, headlamp and reflectors, map material, bivouac sack and rescue blanket

Tips

Indulge yourself at the Lindauer Hut and try the Kaiserschmarren with apple sauce.
