Real mountains. Real experience. The Montafon Podcast

The Montafon is a valley: a depression between mountains, formed by glaciers, rising towards the back. But the Montafon is much more than that and one thing above all: unique. Because lively village life, cultural and historical attractions and authentic customs are concentrated between the rugged peaks of the surrounding Alps. Even elusive things such as hospitality and joie de vivre have found their home here.

But what is life actually like in this southernmost corner of Vorarlberg? What awaits those interested in the various corners of the Montafon and what topics are the locals interested in? In "Real mountains. The Montafon Podcast", Jens from Germany meets real Montafon locals who give him an exclusive look behind the scenes and allow him to immerse himself in the life and culture of the valley.

In the first season, presenter Jens already met Hermann, who gave him a very authentic and personal presentation of his homeland. Christine, a native Montafonian, accompanied Jens through the Montafon with a lot of passion and humor in the second season. And now, in the third season, Jens has the pleasure of welcoming the young Montafon native Alissa as his new companion on his journey of discovery through the Montafon. What will the two of them experience this season? Have a listen!

NEW: The Amrei novel as an audio book

Amrei - A journey through the alpine mosaic of Montafon

But who is Amrei? In addition to the four main characters - the Verwall, the Silvretta, the Rätikon and the valley itself, Amrei, a young Montafon woman, plays the leading role in the novel "Amrei and the Alpine Mosaic Montafon". In addition to Amrei and her story, the texts for the service booklet and the infrastructure were also created by journalist Ingrid Yasha Rösner.

"Amrei und das Alpenmosaik Montafon" is a story about the fascinating natural diversity of the Montafon and a generation on the threshold of a new era, in which their own wishes and dreams seek their place in a world of traditions, obligations and traditional conventions.

Narrated by George Nussbaumer and now available for you to listen to as an audio book, either from your favorite provider or directly here on our website:
