Tourbeschreibung

Golmerbahn mountain station (1893 m) - Platzis - Rells (1490 m) - Heinrich Hueter Hut (1766 m) - Lünerkrinne (2155 m) - Douglass Hut (Lünersee) - Brand

Description

The Zimba is often called the "Vorarlberg Matterhorn" because of its similar shape. This hike offers the opportunity to admire the distinctive mountain from several sides. Another attraction are the "gypsum holes" in the area of the Lünerkrinne as well as the alpine flora around the Lünersee. In general, during this hike in the Rätikon, you continuously have an incredibly beautiful panorama of the impressive mountain world of the Montafon.

Approach

Coming from Bludenz, take the Bludenz/Montafon highway exit and follow the L188 into the Montafon to Vandans to the Golmerbahn valley station. You can also go via Tschagguns to Latschau and then join the Golmerbahn there.

Directions

The route starts at the mountain station of the Golmerbahn and leads on a well-marked path into the Außergolm area. You reach the Alpengasthof Rellstal via the Platzisalpe, where you can stop for a break. The trail continues uphill via the forest road and some shortcuts to the Heinrich Hueter Hut, which is located at the foot of the Zimba. The ascent continues over the Gipsköpfle up to the Lünerkrinne. There you have a great view of the Lünersee, the Schesaplana, and you can enjoy the last longing glances into the Montafon before turning your back on the Montafon. From the Lünerkrinne, you can reach the mountain station of the Lünerseebahn in about 30 minutes.
