The hiking trail starts in Valkastielstrasse after the Mustergiel bridge. Follow the signs left along the wall uphill. Initially, the gravel path continues straight uphill. After about 15-20 minutes, you reach the first fork. Turn right onto the path over the "Scheibenkopf." After a few meters, you arrive at a stone wall with a passage. Take the left path there, and it continues uphill through the forest. After about 10-15 minutes, you reach a forest clearing. Keep going. When the gravel road continues to the right, you'll see that a path also continues straight ahead. Choose the path going straight ahead. Shortly afterwards, you reach a narrow wooden bridge which you cross, then follow the path further uphill. On the small plateau (above the bridge), turn right (following the stream). Via steps, you then reach the Valkastiel ruin. Return is via the same path. There is also the option to return along the stream path. You will arrive back at the same starting point.
