that we are proud of

After an intensive two-year certification process, the Montafon was the first region in Vorarlberg and the sixth destination in Austria to be awarded the renowned Austrian Ecolabel for tourism regions. This seal stands for our clear commitment to sustainable and future-oriented tourism development. The submission was made by Montafon Tourismus GmbH, while the process was coordinated by our PIZ Montafon - Future Laboratory for Sustainable Tourism.

We can officially join the list of the "150 most innovative companies in Austria 2025"! In a comprehensive ranking by the business magazine trend, which was carried out for the first time in cooperation with the market research company Statista, Montafon Tourismus achieved 43rd place in the "Top 100 innovative companies" category. We are also the only tourism destination listed in the "Tourism, gastronomy and leisure" sector!

With the successful audit to become an ECOPROFIT company in February 2024, Montafon Tourism has laid another important foundation stone for sustainable development in tourism. ÖKOPROFIT is an Austrian certification for Austrian companies that leads to practical operational sustainability management.

We are now very proud to have been recertified in 2025.

The first future lab for sustainable tourism in Austria, which was launched in 2022 by Montafon Tourismus and others, is consistently driving forward future-oriented tourism development in the Montafon. Since then, a number of innovative events and projects have already been implemented.

Vorarlberg Tourism Award

We were awarded the Signum Laudis Gold Medal for the Muntafuner Gaglaweg puzzle book, the central printed work for children's hiking trails, by a jury of experts and the public. Take a look at our rating on the Tourist Austria International (T.A.I.) website.

The team from Montafon Tourismus received the silver award (audience rating) for the Alpenmosaik Montafon service manual in the "Posters & Other Advertising Media" category of the renowned T.A.I. With the "Top Tourismus Jobs Vorarlberg" certification, Montafon Tourismus has distinguished itself as one of the TOP tourism employers in the Montafon and Vorarlberg. The seal of quality is subject to a strict certification process and stands for the best working conditions, outstanding corporate culture, company and non-company benefits, flexible working time models and personal appreciation.

In the "Festivals" category of the "Sustainable Winning!" competition organized by the "Green Events Austria" network, we received the prestigious award from the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology for holding the Montafon Tourism Day. Environmental protection is our top priority. This includes consistent waste avoidance, regional cuisine and free public transportation.

As one of the best cookbooks in the world our cookbook "Zu Tisch im Muntafu" has been awarded. With carefully selected recipes, it offers a unique cross-section of Montafon cuisine and provides background information on typical Montafon traditions. These cultural insights round off the work and make it more than just a cookbook - a piece of the Montafon way of life.

The project "Servus Vorarlberg! - Knowledge and awareness of regional experience, culture and language. A new welcoming culture for employees in tourism" was awarded the Austrian Tourism Innovation Prize (ÖIT ) by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy and Tourism as an inter-company cooperation between the Bludenz Alpine Region, the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce and Montafon Tourism.
