The Montafon brand
Our brand service
How do you successfully implement the Montafon brand and what do you have to do to achieve this?
Authentic encounters and a warm atmosphere are essential for guests to feel completely at ease in the Montafon. We have therefore put together some valuable tips and ideas for personal interaction with guests. They will help you to better understand individual needs, communicate appreciatively and create unforgettable experiences.
Whether in the accommodation, at the hut or on a shared tour - it is often the small gestures and attentive conversations that make the difference and make a stay in the Montafon special.
Before arrival
Send your guests a short email a few days before arrival with suggestions on what activities await them in the Montafon. For vacation homes, mention the opening hours of the grocery stores on the day of arrival. Perhaps also give them a preview of the weather and snow conditions in winter to increase their anticipation.
Arrival
Welcome your guests personally and introduce yourself by first name as their host. Ask them straight away if they have any special wishes or requests that you can take into consideration.
Welcome in the room
Delight your guests with a small welcome gift in their room, e.g. blooming flowers, a handwritten postcard signed by you, a small regional sweet or fruit, a carafe of fresh Muntafun water and the appropriate information material. Our wooden concierge cube is also ideal for this. Children will also appreciate a special gift such as a coloring book with some crayons or a children's book.
Breakfast
Wish your guests a good start to a wonderful vacation day with a personal morning post at the breakfast table and link this with personal news from the company, e.g. our cat Molly has had kittens. We invite you to get to know the little kittens. Or: Yesterday our Toni went berry picking - we are happy to serve you the result today for a snack - there is a fresh blueberry cake.
menu
Use regional or at least Austrian names for the names of the dishes, e.g. Apfelsaft gespritzt instead of Apfelschorle or Topfenkuchen instead of Quarkkuchen. You can find a list of Austrianisms, i.e. words that are classic for Austrian German, online on Wikipedia.
Good night greeting
Give your guests a goodnight greeting before they go to bed, e.g. in the form of a personal recommendation for an activity the next day.
Personal recommendation
Give your guests individual recommendations for activities and events tailored to their needs - possibly even with the offer to accompany them personally or hire a Montafon mountain guide. Also tell your guests what the right clothing and equipment is for the mountains.
Insider tips
Provide your guests with tips that otherwise only locals know, such as which alp has the best Sura Kees, from which vantage point you have the best view of the valley and where which herbs can be found and what they do.
Booking activities
Assist your guests in booking activities by organizing this for them and having the tickets and mountain railway passes ready for them to collect.
Departure
Say goodbye to your guests with a small farewell gift for the return journey, such as a bottle of Muntafun water, a tag personally signed with "Pfüat Di - komm guat hem!" and a snack for the journey with regional products.
After departure
Send your guests a personal message a few days before their departure in the form of a postcard waiting for them at home or an email a few days after their departure. Ask if they have arrived home safely, thank them for their stay and ask them to subscribe to your newsletter or become fans of your social media channels. Also ask them to rate you on the booking platforms.
On the road
Be attentive and helpful. For example, if you see a guest who is probably lost, show them the way or accompany them for a while. If you meet a guest on the bus or train, ask them what they have already seen and give them a tip on what else they absolutely must see. You have probably already had such positive encounters with locals on your vacation.
On the phone
Always answer the phone with a smile and say goodbye with a smile. The guest senses this and it shows them that you enjoy your work.
Personal details
Write down personal details of your guests such as the names of all family members and pets, birthdays, favorite foods, allergies or places and events visited in the Montafon. Then you can surprise them with a personal postcard for their birthday or with their favorite meal on their next visit.
