The Montafon brand

Our tourism mission statement

Our tourism mission statement is the compass for our future. It defines the values and goals that characterize the Montafon as an authentic vacation destination and promotes sustainable tourism development. It focuses on the needs of both our guests and the local community. It forms the framework for our marketing activities and ensures the continuous development of the Montafon in its diversity and originality.

OUR GUIDELINES

Our DNA

We asked ourselves where we come from and which characteristics best describe a typical Montafon resident. The result is five core brand values. Every Montafon resident can recognize themselves in them and our guests also perceive us in this way. And we want it to stay that way. Because this is our DNA that defines us - now and in the future.

Steeped in history

The cultural history of the Montafon spans numerous eras. The traces of this development - from mining to settlement - are still omnipresent today and can be experienced by everyone in agriculture, energy production, transport routes, architecture and tourism.

Unconventional

The people of Montafon are proud of their regional products, their own architectural style and their customs and traditions, which have been practiced for centuries and have been passed down from generation to generation to this day.

Efficient

The local population has always worked hard to ensure that nature is made accessible to the people of the Montafon through a comprehensive infrastructure, so that it can be experienced in all its facets.

Rural

The three-stage farming with maize fields, the breeding of Montafon brown cattle and stone sheep as well as the annual Alpine cattle drive bear witness to the active cultivation of the Alps in a still intact cultural landscape.

Pioneering

With progressive ideas, courageous decisions and pioneering projects for the development of the mountain world, the foundations for summer and winter tourism were laid early on in the Montafon, which still characterize the development of the region today.

Our mission for the Montafon

In the Montafon, we strive for high-quality, year-round tourism. To achieve this goal, we focus on ecologically, economically and socially sustainable development, regionality and genuine hospitality. With special and authentic Vorarlberg-style experiences, our manufactories want to achieve the good life for the entire living space and its inhabitants with excellent expertise and fair cooperation.

What does that mean exactly?

High-quality, year-round residential tourism...

... in the Montafon means that the region provides high-quality tourist offers all year round. This includes first-class services, accommodation and experiences that highlight the unique cultural and natural features of the region. The aim is to offer visitors an exceptional and sustainable experience in every season, taking into account both the needs of the guests and the protection of the local environment and community.

ecologically, economically and socially sustainable development...

... means that the Montafon pays attention to environmental protection, economic sustainability and social justice in its tourism offers and projects. It is about using resources sparingly, strengthening the local economy and promoting the well-being of the community in order to achieve long-term positive effects for the region and its inhabitants.

Regionality...

... in the context of sustainable development in the Montafon means valuing and promoting local resources, products, traditions and the community. It is about preserving the unique cultural and natural heritage of the region and integrating it into the tourism offer to create authentic experiences that convey the true essence of the Montafon to visitors while supporting the local economy.

Genuine hospitality...

... in the Montafon refers to the sincere and warm manner in which guests are welcomed and treated. It is reflected in the open, warm and caring interaction between hosts and visitors, which goes far beyond the usual level of service and gives guests a sense of belonging and appreciation.

... mean that the tourist offers in the Montafon are strongly rooted in the local culture and nature. They offer guests unique experiences that are typical of the region, such as traditional craftsmanship, local cuisine and exploring the natural beauty of the Montafon. These experiences are genuine because they are based on real traditions and are offered by people who are deeply connected to their homeland.

Manufacturers with excellent expertise and fair cooperation...

These businesses work closely and fairly with other local providers to create authentic and unique experiences for visitors that reflect the culture and traditions of the region.

The good life for the entire living space and its inhabitants...

... in the Montafon means creating a high quality of life for everyone who lives there or visits the region. It is about promoting an environment in which people and nature are in harmony and where community, culture and the local economy are supported in a sustainable way.

Our brand rules

How do you bring the Montafon brand to life? We have defined five brand rules that anyone can use to easily check whether the offers, products and events correspond to the Montafon brand. The brand rules help to create a consistent and recognizable brand experience. They ensure that all offers and experiences in the Montafon reflect the same values and the uniform image of the region. This strengthens the Montafon brand, attracts the right guests in a targeted manner and increases customer satisfaction and loyalty.

  1. My Montafon rule:
The Montafon relies on individual offers. All of them are linked to people and thus create a deliberate, uncomplicated closeness. Is a personal experience made possible?
  2. Relationship rule:
    Is a relationship established?
  3. Interlocking rule:
The mountains are part of the living world and life is part of the mountain world. The guest senses this interlocking. Is my product part of the mountain and living world?
  4. Stylistic rule:
Is the brand clearly recognizable as the sender?
  5. Access rule:
Is access made easy or are there barriers?

It is best to consider each individual point of contact with your guests and ask yourself these questions. To what extent does your offer already meet the requirements at this point? What can you do even better?

Montafon village profiles

An individual village profile helps each municipality in the Montafon to clearly define and communicate its unique strengths and authentic identity. By consistently focusing on this profile, coherent experiences are created that meet the expectations of guests and are remembered for a long time. At the same time, the differentiation of the villages ensures a diverse overall offer in the Montafon that covers a wide range of interests and needs.

Montafon mountain railway profiles

Similar to the different village profiles, different cable car profiles are necessary to specifically highlight the diversity of the mountain worlds in the Montafon and to offer guests a targeted and coherent experience. Each mountain railroad opens up unique terrain with individual focal points - whether as a family mountain, a place of enjoyment or an alpine adventure area. Clear profiles allow the strengths of each region to be optimally utilized and communicated. This makes it easier for guests to find the offer that suits their interests and experience the Montafon mountains in all their diversity.
